Board Certified Optometrist
A driven and knowledgeable Board-Certified Optometrist, Dr. Roberts provides patients at Community Eye Center with primary eye care including the management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, corneal disease, and the fitting of glasses and contact lenses.
With certainty and purpose, Dr. Roberts made the decision to become an optometrist as a result of his own life experiences. Discovering a passion early in life, he attributes his decision to become an optometrist to the doctor who diagnosed and treated him when he nearly lost his own sight due to a retinal detachment in elementary school.
Sharing his passion for optometry and providing insight and education to others, he has lectured on various topics including pseudoexfoliation glaucoma, ocular surface neoplasms, and central serous chorioretinopathy.
Carrying his own experience with him, he considers the most rewarding aspect of his career to be the ability to have a positive impact on others. He has been a part of many philanthropic efforts at Community Eye Center as well as participating in Remote Area Medical missions, performed local school and nursing home screenings, and volunteered at the Special Olympics.
Spending his time outside of the office living in Southwest Florida with his wife Dr. Spalding, he also enjoys playing golf and watching sports.
